Jo Jackson BHS Intermediate Accredited Coach originally studied & passed her initial horse care, riding & teaching exams at the prestigious Suzanne’s Riding School, Harrow Weald. Jo was taught by Sue Payne FBHS and Julian Marczak FABRS.Jo has worked and competed in a wide range of equestrian disciplines including high goal polo, showing, hunting, affiliated showjumping, dressage and eventing.
After gaining the BHSII certificate Jo trained for two years in Duchess County, New York State with Reinhard Teeter, Grand Prix showjumper & dressage coach. Reinhard himself, was a pupil of the late Reiner Klimke – Olympic Gold Dressage medalist. Reinhard also trained with George Morris the renowned international showjumping trainer & founder of the Hunter seat.
On return from the U.S Jo began training with Isobel Wessels 5 * dressage judge. Jo has found Isobel to be a tremendous influence on her own style of teaching and competing.
Jo’s major passion is teaching young riders and seeing them develop and also adult riders who are restarting after a long break with the aim of future competition participation. Jo also thoroughly enjoys starting riders from the outset and making sure that the basic riding principles are well understood and perfected.
